Returning New Zealand residents may also need income tax receipts covering at least previous 21 months. Employment's reference / Bank statement from pre. 21 months RESTRICTED ITEMS: 1. Flick knives; sword sticks; knuckle-dusters 2. Indecent articles (i.e. video tapes, film, records and publication) 3. Drugs, other than prescription medicines FIREARMS / WEAPONS: In order to bring guns into the country, a police permit/arms permit and registration certificate are required. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES / TOBACCO: Full detailed list of wines showing the period wines have been held by shipper is required. (concession allowance of 4.5 liters; however, customs will assess each entry on an individual basis for duty). DUTIES: HHG/PE are admitted duty free provided shipper is coming to country intending to take up permanent residence. Shipper must have lived outside the country for at least 21 months before arrival and have owned and used the goods prior to departure for New Zealand. VEHICLES: Documents required: Ocean bill of lading / air waybill; registration documents; passports, original bill of sale showing purchase price and purchase date of vehicle; continuous insurance;certificate to prove the length of ownership by the shipper and any other info that will bear proof of ownership;certificate of steam cleaning. One vehicle per person can be imported exempt from the need for an import license. Note: Please be advised of strict fumigation requirements
